Sinner Saint Burlesque at SEAF 2016
Sinner Saint Burlesque is excited to be a part of the Seattle Erotic Art Festival once again for 2016! This year, we are showcasing a new, short work dedicated to the human experience of joy. We’ll be premiering JoyBOMB on Saturday, April 24 at 8:30 pm at SEAF.

Two primary human motivations are to avoid pain and seek pleasure. On deep psychological, emotional and sexual levels, we attempt to experiment with and understand the stories humans have conjured about pleasure being evil, about sex being violent, and about erotic narratives including domination. How sex and sexual relations are defined is influenced by, and influences our society’s social, economic, spiritual and political landscape. Sex and eroticism are not only about intimate partnerships, but how we relate to one another in the greater world.
For many women, sexual response means entering an altered state of consciousness that neurologically, emotionally, physically and spiritually has been correlated to an increase in creativity, confidence and interconnectedness. The medicalization and subjugation of the vagina and the feminine, is one of the greatest tragedies in the history of sex.
Watch as we experiment with joyful eroticism, joyful fantasies, and joyful sexuality – a rarely seen experience in sex. In a world where most visual images of sex include the subjugation, domination or violence of women…where sex looks painful and where female pleasure is rarely seen, we present embodied, joyful eroticism.
We will focus on joyful arousal, and attention to the unique, diverse ways we are each wired to respond to stimulation. Challenge you notions of eroticism and sex being dirty, naughty, jealous, violent, and painful, and instead will display it as playful, sacred, ecstatic and above all, joyful. If we were truly free from oppression and violence, what would sex be like? What would pleasure be like? What would eroticism be like?
