In the golden age of classic, bump-n-grind burlesque, headlining performers typically performed acts that were 20 minutes in length. Today, however, the standard Burletta is from three to six minutes long. In LONG KISS GOODNIGHT the stars of Sinner Saint Burlesque will present long-form burlesque pieces, a modern take on classic tease.

Cherry Manhattan has been putting the ass back in classy as a neo-burlesque performer and producer since 2007. She recently co-produced, performed and directed in the Seattle Premiere of Ann Bannon’s “Beebo Brinker Chronicles” and brought this six-month retro-lesbian pulp festival to life across the city, including a cabaret series and four week theatrical run at Re-bar, with sold-out shows at ACT Theater. Last year Cherry created and co-produced the acclaimed “The Beyond Real Human Female” at Theater Off-Jackson, as part of SPF: Solo Performance Festival. A classically trained actor and director, Cherry has performed burlesque at venues all over Seattle, including On the Boards in Washington Ensemble Theatre’s “blahblahblahBANG!”, at the Can Can in “Sound and Smoke” with Troupe Hypnotica, andatSeattle Shakespeare Company as Mae West in an old Hollywood take on “A Servant of Two Masters.” Cherry has assisted international sensations Julie Atlas Muz, Tigger and Dirty Martiniat Teatro Zinzanni and The Rep’s Bagley Wright Theater in Bumbershoot’s “Bumberlesque: Apocalypse at Coney Island,” was a mainstage performer in the 2009 Erotic Arts Festival, and has been a featured headliner for the past year at LoreDona’s monthly “Vintage Spectacular” at the White Rabbitin Fremont. This beauty with brains graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Drama from the University of California, and currently teaches Neo-Burlesque Theory and Performance as an Adjunct Instructor at Cornish College of the Arts.
